Through the RAMP workbook, and advice provided by their mentor and fellow farmers, this participant felt they were now very knowledgable about:

  • The impact of set stocking and rotational grazing.
  • The role of remnant vegetation in supporting the natural ecosystem.

Experience on the RAMP

Through mentorship, the mentee delved into the foundational principles of regenerative agriculture (RA), cultivating a deep understanding of its ecological underpinnings. Embracing ecological literacy, they recognised the intricate connections within ecosystems and the necessity of holistic thinking to navigate complex adaptive systems. Seeing the landscape as a community, the mentee acknowledged their role within it, fostering a sense of stewardship and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Understanding the dynamic relationship between human cultures and environments, they engaged with Indigenous knowledge, recognising its vital contribution to sustainable land management. Remaining perpetually curious, they sought transformative experiences and continuous learning, adapting their practices to evolving challenges and insights. Grounded in ecological renewal, the mentee embraced place-based decision-making through rigorous monitoring, ensuring their actions aligned with the needs of the land. Overall, these learnings empowered the mentee to cultivate regenerative practices that foster resilience, biodiversity, and harmony within their agricultural landscape, embodying the ethos of RA in their journey towards sustainability.
