Adopting change
The mentee has made strides in their farming practices, including adopting strip grazing after witnessing its successful implementation with sheep. This shift signifies an openness to innovative techniques to optimise grazing management and pasture utilisation. Furthermore, they express a high regard for group mentoring in the RAMP program, emphasising the value of exchanging ideas and receiving feedback from peers, which has enriched their learning experience and fostered a sense of community.
Additionally, the mentee found the RAMP booklet to be highly beneficial, serving as a useful starting point for discussions while offering flexibility to explore various topics. This resource has provided foundational knowledge and facilitated a deeper exploration of regenerative agriculture principles. The booklet provides an extensive list of resources for mentees to use, read, watch and listen to with each topic in the booklet having specific resources as well.
Changes to farming practices
The mentee recognises the importance of increasing species diversity, stubble retention, and cover cropping, as reflected in their high ratings for the benefits of these practices (5 out of 5 for self-assessed knowledge).
