Becky Trilsbach, from Missabotti near Nambucca Heads NSW, found the webinar presentations during the RAMP program to be incredibly valuable and important to her learning. Although her life commitments meant she missed some live sessions, she always enjoyed catching up on the recordings (accessible through the RAMP website). Becky enjoyed getting in touch with other mentees regarding their questions. Engaging directly with leading minds in the field significantly enhanced her understanding and knowledge.

The mentor

The role of the mentor was pivotal in the program. Becky’s group was small enough to fully utilise the compassionate and knowledgeable leadership of their mentor. She believes that matching group sizes to the energy and availability of the mentor is crucial. The mentor’s emphasis on the importance of a community of practice has bonded the group, inspiring and motivating Becky to mentor others on their journeys. This supportive and collaborative environment has been key to the group’s success.

The RAMP booklet

The RAMP booklet was beneficial to Becky’s learning journey, helping her transform feelings into thoughts, words, and reflections. It provided a structured way to process and document her learning, making it easier to revisit and reflect on key concepts. The booklet was a valuable resource that complemented the program’s teachings and supported her ongoing development.

Reflection

Overall, the program exceeded Becky’s expectations. Initially, she expected it to be much harder, more personal, and more practical, which was somewhat daunting. However, the experience was fantastic and thought-provoking, serving as a catalyst for many changes and improvements in her land management and relationship practices. The relationships and knowledge gained have reinvigorated her mindset within her current context, making the program instrumental in driving positive change.
